Boutique Los Balcones really captured the charm of colonial architecture. The breakfast served on the terrace each morning was a good treat with fresh smoothies and tasty cheese empanadas. My room had a comfortable bed and a well-appointed bathroom. I appreciated the multiple sets of doors that blocked out street noise, great for peaceful sleep despite being in a busy area. The staff were cute and provided helpful tips for exploring the city. The location made it easy to walk around old town. Some areas could use a bit of updating. The room I booked wasn't as charming as the ones featured in photos, and I wish there were more options at breakfast for those with dietary restrictions. The nights were a bit noisy due to creaky floorboards from the wooden structure. Despite these small drawbacks, I felt secure and settled were nice.

Really enjoyed our well decorated and airy rooms.
The restaurant here was terrific with an EXCELLENT Chef, we both ordered delicious dishes. The bed was great and there were central heating, a safe box, and multi-channel television.

Cool traditional hotel with very kind staff. Huge room, extremely comfy beds, excellent breakfast. Nice view of the surrounding hills from the window. Great and unbeatable location to a culture museum. Pretty comfortable area adjacent to the many churches, squares and museums, the lobby's restaurant and the river. A delightful way to end my vacation.

I was delighted by the lovely rooftop terrace where I enjoyed a generous breakfast with a wide array of options. The staff were really nice, helping with local tips and arranging tours. My room was spacious, bright, and wonderfully comfortable.
Some aspects require updating.

Charming colonial ambiance with minor hiccups
The hotel's colonial decor captivated me, and I enjoyed breakfast on the terrace as I soaked in the view of bustling streets below. The room was spacious and beautifully maintained.

The decor was very good & tastefully done. Reception & service staff provided excellent, prompt and friendly service, with good support in English. Dinner & breakfast were excellent. Close location to the Centro was real value for money. I have recommended Los Balcones to my associates here at San Carlos sugar mill.

This was the best hotel we stayed in in Ecuador (although also the most expensive). The location is fine, near the centre but not so close that it's noisy at night. The room was big and clean, the shower excellent, and the staff very pleasant.
It's a 10/15 minute walk from the main nightlife/restaurants and the streets are pretty quiet at night...worth taking a taxi back late in the evening.

The colonial decor really sets the vibe, and breakfast every morning on the terrace was a highlight. Just a heads up, my room was a little noisy from the street below, but it didn't ruin the charm.

The guys at the desk were great and went out of the way to be helpful. The folks at the adjacent restuarant(california kitchen) were helpful also. iNTERACTION WITH OTHER GUEST WAS ENCOURAGED AND THAT WAS ALSO HELPFUL.
Did not have a business center.

easy access to parks and landmarks in cuenca
I really enjoyed my stay, as the hotel is just a few blocks from the beautiful center square and only about 500 meters to the tranquil rio Tomebamba, perfect for a relaxing stroll by the water. The charming colonial decor and spacious room added to the overall experience.

The staff were very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, a lot of effort put into design. The Calrfornia Restaurant, on site, was wonderful. I would stay another week just to dine there, The location was perfect, we walked to the central plaza and church several times a day just to people watch and relax. Endless hot water!
Noisy. Money would have been better spent on proper windows that blocked some of the street nois than on the spa sowers. This is not a huge complaint, wonderful hotel.

Great little hotel with charm, character and attention to detail. Incredibly efficient staff who truly cared about guest comfort and satisfaction. Felt more like staying with friends than in a hotel. Would definitely recommend Los Balcones to other travelers headed to Cuenca.
